Width, Route and Layout
A front walk should be at least four feet wide so two people can walk side by side, and five feet feels genuinely generous. Utility paths along the side of a house can drop to three feet. We lay out the route with paint and stakes and walk it with you, because the shortest line between two points is not always the one people actually use — if there is already a worn dirt trail across the lawn, that is the route your path wants.
Gentle curves make a long walk feel intentional and let the path work around trees, beds and grade changes. We form real radii rather than approximating a curve with short straight segments.
